1. Thread the machine in proper order
The first and significant step while using an overlock sewing machine is to thread it correctly because there are one to five spools of thread depending on the types of overlock system are using. A three thread machine will have a top loop, a bottom loop and single needle thread, whereas, a four thread machine will have 2 needle threads, a bottom loop and a top loop. 2. Start sewing

If that doesn’t give desired results, you can thread your machine with a different color thread so that you will not face any problem in identifying thread that is creating problem. After identifying the problem causing thread, you can tweak the tension slightly and test again. If the fabric is wrinkled up, you need to lower the thread tension, and if it is loose, you have to increase the tension. Continue until you achieve the desired stitch quality.
